Fun Facts about Joy to the World

Joy to the World is one of my favorite Christmas carols and a lovely one to try playing as a beginner.

It is one of the oldest and most popular English Christmas carol out there with the words coming from Issacs Watts' paraphrasing Psalm 98 in the 1700's. But it took another 100 years for the melody to be written.

Now, it's one of the most published Christmas carols!

You can probably hum the first line in your head right now, but what if I told you, it was just a major scale going down? The rhythm is what makes it iconic & memorable.
